‘Bringing some music-centred positivity, it will raise money for the charity closest to their hearts.’
Proving that music can indeed be a force for good even in the toughest of times, Zo’s Fest, in association with Original Rock will be a fundraising event for a cause that couldn’t be closer to their hearts. Diagnosed with type 4 Pancreatic Cancer, writer Zoe Marchment has recently been told that she has approximately 6 months to a year to live. Given that this charity event was meant to take place next year in celebration of her being 2 years cancer free, you can’t begin to imagine the feelings going through the minds of herself, her family and the team involved in Original Rock.
However, rather than cancel all together, it has been brought forward to Sunday 15th November and across the space of 3 hours, this online event will showcase some of the best upcoming musicians in the UK, Ireland and America. Kicking off at 6pm GMT (1pm EST), every half hour a new artist will take to the virtual stage over on the Original Rock Facebook Page, and with them providing an enviable mix of everything from indie garage-rock to acoustic reworks, there’s sure to be something to tickle your auditory taste buds.
“Pancreatic Cancer UK sits at the heart of a community of people with personal and professional experience of pancreatic cancer. We would not be able to do this without them. To help us to define our vision and objectives for the future, we listened to their views, hopes and ambitions. We want to transform the future for everyone with pancreatic cancer. Our five-year strategy sets out how we will lead the way to that transformation.” [Pancreatic Cancer UK]
